The Navigator is offered as one well equipped trim in either 4X2 or 4X4, powered by a 300-hp 5.4-liter V-8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard luxury features include a power liftgate, heated and cooled front seats, power folding 3rd row seats, THX II audio system, satellite radio, HID headlights and genuine wood trim. Standard safety features include antilock brakes, electronic stability control with roll control, tire pressure monitoring, side-impact airbags for front-seat occupants, and side curtain airbags for all three rows of seats.
For 2008, the Base and Ultimate trims have been combined into one trim and three new colors are being offered.

One of the most popular full-size luxury SUVs, the 2008 Lincoln Navigator sets the bar with distinctive exterior styling, versatility, towing power, and a swath of luxury features. The Navigator is powered by a 5.4 liter SOHC V8 engine creating a prodigious 300 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft. of torque, mated exclusively to a 6-speed automatic transmission for quick acceleration and buttery-smooth shifts. With a properly-equipped tow package, the 4x2 models can tow up to 9,000 lbs. while 4x4 models can handle up to 8,800 lbs.
Every Navigator model comes equipped with first-in-class AdvanceTrac® with class-exclusive Roll Stability Control (RSC®). Combined with Control Trac® 4-Wheel-Drive (4WD), you can conquer everything from extreme off-road conditions and low-speed towing, to extreme weather conditions in your everyday commute.
