No longer known as the GS 430, the Lexus GS 460 sedan makes its mark with practicality as well as speed, restraint and luxury.

Taken from the LS 460 is the GS 460's engine, a 4.6-liter V8 capable of yielding 342 horsepower and 339 feet-pounds of torque. Also like the LS, the GS is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GS 460 can seat five and comes with leather seats available in three colors. Standard safety features include front knee, side-impact and side curtain airbags. An advanced stability system also comes standard.

2008 Lexus GS 460

The 2008 Lexus GS 460 gets a significant power boost this year, thanks to a larger V8 engine with more horsepower and torque than last year. In addition, new interior trim and revised instrumentation make the interior even more stylish and luxurious than ever before.
The new 4.6 liter V8 engine features dual Variable Valve Timing and generates 342 horsepower for instantaneous acceleration and ample passing power. It’s mated to a smooth-shifting 8-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission that features good fuel efficiency and manumatic shifting ability. Standard rear-wheel drive is the optimal setup for excellent dry-road handling, while the variable gear-ratio steering adjusts the steering responsiveness based on the vehicle’s speed. The available Active Power Stabilizer Suspension System is designed to adjust the vehicle’s sway resistance to help keep the vehicle flat in turns.

Standard ultra-sensitive performance four-wheel disc brakes and an Anti-lock Braking System enhance braking power and prevent wheel lockup. With the standard Adaptive Variable Suspension, the driver can adjust the firmness and damping rates of the shock absorbers to customize ride comfort and handling precision. A total of 10 standard airbags, including dual front, front and rear side curtain, front and rear side seat-mounted, and dual front knee airbags add up to an amazing safety package. Standard Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control work together to enhance traction and lateral stability during turns or emergency maneuvers. The Direct Tire Pressure Monitor automatically checks tire pressure and notifies the driver of critically low pressure.

Available high-intensity discharge headlamps and integrated foglamps provide better nighttime visibility, while the Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System allows both headlamps to turn, providing better illumination around curves. Standard Intuitive Parking Assist uses sensors to help to park the vehicle. Available Dynamic Radar Cruise Control helps to maintain a pre-set following distance from the car in front of you. The available Navigation System offers voice activation and a high-resolution screen to offer detailed maps and directions. A DVD/CD auto-changer and Mark Levinson ® 14-speaker sound system offers amazing acoustic quality, while an Audio Port allows a digital media player to be used. Available Bluetooth® technology allows hand-free operation of your cell phone, while the available Backup Camera allows the driver to view objects behind the vehicle when backing up.

With even more power and luxury features this year, the 2008 Lexus GS 460 is one of the highest-performing sedans in the Lexus stable.
